Greece Investment Options
To qualify for the program, investors must comply with regulatory requirements related to capital contributions. In summary, applicants should:
Invest in real estate with a minimum price of €250,000. From 1 August 2023, this threshold is raised to €500,000 in the central, southern and northern regions of Athens and other specific cities and islands, or
Invest in financial products such as company shares, bonds and government treasuries traded on regulated markets, as well as bank deposits. All of these must meet certain criteria. The initial investment amount is €400,000 and increases to €800,000.
1. Real Estate Investment: For applicants to be eligible to maintain and renew their residence permit, they must hold onto their investment. If the property/investment is resold without renewal, the applicant's residence permit will be invalidated. Applicants may own multiple properties, as long as the combined value meets or exceeds the minimum real estate investment threshold. Joint ownership of property is permitted for spouses, as well as for two or more principal applicants, provided that each applicant meets the minimum investment criteria. The property may be rented out to third parties without any restrictions. Properties purchased after December 31, 2023 will be subject to VAT on the sales price. 2. Application Fees: The relevant fees include services provided to the principal applicant and all eligible family members throughout the Golden Residence Permit application process.
