Malaysia Premium Employment Visa (EP)
An Employment Pass (EP) is a permit that allows an expatriate to work for an organization in Malaysia. The Employment Pass is subject to an employment contract (maximum 60 months). Expatriates only work for the company specified in the Employment Pass. If they change employers, they will need to resubmit their application. There is currently a limit on the number of expatriate workers that a Malaysian company can employ. If any Malaysian company intends to hire a foreigner, then the company must prove to the government that the employee and their position are essential and that their job cannot be filled by a local. Before a company proceeds with an application for an Employment Pass, it must request a quota from the Immigration Department.
