Latvia became a member of the European Union in 2004 and subsequently joined the Schengen Area in 2007.

Investment Types and Costs
Applicants have four options for obtaining a Latvian Golden Visa:
Option 1:
Real estate investment: Investors purchase real estate with a total value of at least €250,000 and receive a 5-year residence permit.
Residential or commercial property: €250,000 Government fee (as a percentage of the property price): 5%
Option 2:
Business Investment: Investors can invest in an existing Latvian company or create a new business, in return for a 5-year residence permit.
Companies with 50 or fewer employees and annual turnover less than EUR 10 million: EUR 50,000
Option 3:
Bank deposits: Subprime loans or bonds deposited in Latvian banks.
Minimum value: 280,000 EUR
